In an interview with TalkVille, Al Gough It is Miles Millarthe creators of ‘Smallville‘, confirmed that they had discussed the possibility of becoming Chloe Sullivan (Allison Mack) on Lois Lane in the series C.W..

The filmmakers declared that Superman’s iconic love interest was not available to be used in the narrative (due to copyright), so they had to consider alternatives to fill their space.

“We talked about turning Chloe into Lois Lane. We thought about developing her as if she were the character and, later, having her change identities or something like that. She would have become Lois Lane.”

They complete, “The big problem is that we were not legally free to use Lois Lane in the series. When she finally appeared in season four, she could only appear for two episodes, so we had the chance to bring her back for three more episodes. Fortunately, the [presidente da Warner Bros Television] I simply said: ‘She’s part of the series, she’s not going away’.”

Previously, the duo commented on a possible revival of the production: “Honestly, no (we have no interest). We tell that story, and the studio introduces a new version of Superman from time to time. For example, we recently discovered that James Gunn is writing a film that will feature a younger version (of the hero). We were very, very fortunate to do it, and more importantly, the way we wanted. There was no committee over the series, saying what was allowed or not. I mean, we had Warner’s resources, which wouldn’t give us certain characters, but we managed to do what was planned, which certainly wouldn’t happen today.”.

For those who don’t remember, ‘Smallville‘ followed the adventures of Clark Kent before becoming Superman.

One of the pioneering series in adapting comics to TV, ‘Smallville‘ remained on the air between 2001 and 2011.

The cast also included Allison Mack (Chloe Sullian), Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang), Annette O’Toole (Martha Kent), John Schneider (Jonathan Kent), John Glover (Lionel Luthor) and Justin Hartley (Oliver Queen).
